Philosophy

I have been involved in the fitness industry for over 15 years and have worked at Delta Valley Health Club for 13 years. Health and fitness are not only a personal passion of mine, but a lifestyle that everyone is capable and deserving of. I believe that working through physical challenges in the gym strengthens not only our muscles, but also our resolve to conquer everyday stresses and challenges, ultimately leading to a better quality of life. It is my hope to inspire and support my clients in their journey to achieve their individual health and fitness goals and simply feel better about themselves physically and mentally. My approach to achieving and maintaining health and fitness is to be positive, happy and grateful. Positive to encourage, happy to inspire and grateful for the opportunity to help others change their lives.

Allison Harris Pilates & Group X Instructor

Philosophy

Allison has been involved in physical fitness for most of her life. At the age of nine years old, she competed nationally for the Orinda girls AAU track team. As an adult, Allison has continued her passion for health and fitness by becoming a personal trainer. She not only does Personal Training for fitness and muscle conditioning, but also does private Pilates Reformer training for maximum range of motion, sports conditioning, muscle growth, and core strength. Allison is also a Certified Group Exercise instructor with many specialty certifications which enables her to teach muscle conditioning, core stability, mat Pilates, as well as cardio classes such as step, indoor cycling, low impact, and Zumba dance. She has been a trainer since 1997 and has worked here at Delta Valley Health Club since its opening.

Philosophy

I have been in the health and fitness industry since 1980. I have trained people from all walks of life with all different levels of fitness. Being the best athlete you can be is about building a better body through proper training, quality nutrition, restful sleep and stress management. I love to work with people who need more energy, who want to make healthy changes and want to be guided by someone who has the knowledge and experience to help them get there. I see myself as a fitness/sports enthusiast for a major part of my life. I have a vast background in a variety of sports. Those include competing in individual and or team sports. I’ve taught and coached children as young as 6 up to young adults in competitive travel Hockey including leading multiple Team USA Roller Hockey Teams representing California.

I believe I have a good understanding of working and helping people reach their goals and expectations for improvement, in both an individual or group setting. My philosophy has always been that hard, consistent work will pay off. I also feel I have a good understanding of compassion for possible limitations and strive to find ways to help people reach their goals.

Jenn Johnson Personal Trainer

Philosophy

Jenn J. is a Mx4 group fitness instructor, former NPC figure competitor, and has contended in numerous mud runs, obstacles races, and even a half marathon. In addition to Mx4, her favorite workout is kickboxing, and technical boxing training. However, before she began her fitness journey she couldn’t run a mile, do a “real” push up or pull up, and wouldn’t dare to wear a bikini. What changed? She did! She decided to take that first small step into becoming a better, healthier, and more fit version of herself. Today, Jennifer’s desire is to work with people yearning to holistically change their lives for the better – body, mind, and spirit. Philosophy

My goal for my class is to motivate and bring a fun up beat environment for my clients. To me working out shouldn’t be a dreadful thing to do, it should be something you look forward to doing. Working out isn’t just about the physical benefits but about mentally feeling good. In my class, I will push you and motivate you to show up as your best self. Leave whatever is holding you back outside of my class and working towards bettering yourself. Outside of being an instructor, I am a preschool teacher. Trust me, I know the struggle of feeling like your work life and personal life can bring you down, but working out should be that one time of the day where you can let go of life problem and have a moment to do something you truly enjoy and let go of life’s problems and struggles.
